Digital Youth Month 2024

Call for participation!

Montreal, November 9, 2023 – Digital Youth Month (DYM) celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2024! From February 1 to March 8, young people and the general public will discover numerous Quebec initiatives in digital literacy and be introduced to the fields of the future. Montreal Digital Spring (Printemps numérique), the initiator of the event, is inviting institutions, schools, organizations and businesses to become collaborators by presenting their digital activities and resources on the www.mnj.quebec platform.

Under the theme TOGETHER FOR EQUITABLE ACCESS, young people and all those who support them are invited to take part in this festive edition.

Impact of the last edition and season 2 of the “Empreinte numérique” podcast!

In addition to programming activities to support young people’s skills, DYM puts forward an annual awareness campaign on digital issues. In 2023, the theme of ONLINE PRIVACY raised awareness among more than 25,000 young people (see DYM 2023 Report – in French).

Last year, Montreal Digital Spring inaugurated its “Empreinte numérique” podcast (only available in French), giving teenagers the opportunity to express their views on privacy issues. Building on its success, the podcast has been renewed for a new season, offering young people a chance to express themselves and stay informed. Today, being “plugged in” is no longer limited to access to computer equipment; young people feel the need to master the codes of digital culture. Algorithms and digital sobriety are topical subjects that are important for their future, and they will be able to discuss them in the company of specialists.

Critères d’admissibilité

• Œuvrer auprès de la jeunesse québécoise (enfants, ados et jeunes adultes de moins 35 ans ou grand public)
• Offrir une activité ou une ressource numérique contribuant à :
  – introduire ou inspirer aux possibilités du numérique
  – favoriser l’inclusion et l’égalité des chances
  – développer des habiletés numériques
  ET/OU
  – développer des habiletés citoyennes à l’ère du numérique
• Dans le cas d’une activité, celle-ci doit se dérouler au moins en partie pendant le Mois Numérique Jeunesse
• S’engager à promouvoir sa participation et la campagne (ENSEMBLE POUR UN ACCÈS ÉQUITABLE) avant et pendant l’événement

À qui le Mois Numérique Jeunesse s’adresse-t-il?

L’événement s’adresse au grand public et, plus spécifiquement, aux jeunes de moins de 35 ans qui souhaitent explorer les possibilités du numérique et développer leurs habiletés numériques et citoyennes.

Dates à retenir

• Semaine suivant le dépôt de votre formulaire : Confirmation de réception et de sélection du formulaire de participation
• 10 janvier 2024 : Date limite pour remplir le formulaire afin d’obtenir une visibilité plus avantageuse
• 18 janvier 2024 : Lancement du Mois Numérique Jeunesse!
• 1er février au 8 mars 2024 : Réalisation des activités
