Digital Café at Complexe Desjardins: 360° Immersive Projections and Creative Workshops
From October 25 to November 1, as part of the artistic program of MTL connect, the public was invited to take part in a Digital Café at the Grande Place of Complexe Desjardins in the Quartier des spectacles. This free event offered fully immersive experiences combining projections and interactive workshops inside Printemps numérique’s mobile 360° dome.
More than 2,375 visitors stepped inside the dome, along with about a hundred young participants who attended the digital mediation workshops. Everyone had the chance to dive into a world where art meets science and technology, through works that stimulate both the senses and the imagination.
Four Immersive Worlds
This year, the 360° dome program featured four captivating themes, each exploring different emotions and imaginative landscapes:
- One Sky, Many Cultures
- One Childhood, Many Memories
- One Humanity, Many Movements
- One Landscape, Many Imaginaries
Created by artists from here and abroad, these works offered a fascinating encounter between digital art and technological innovation.
International Artists in the Spotlight
The public discovered creations by more than a dozen renowned international artists, including: Sébastien Gauthier, Jérémy Oury, Patrick Osborne, Max Anish Gowriah, Dom St Amand, Olivier Rhéaume, Roberto d’Alessandro, Yan Breuleux, Sean Caruso, Francis Gelinas, Mathieu Baptista, Silvano Mercado, Tiphaine Roustang, Arthur Beauchet
A big thank you to all the artists whose contributions and high-quality works offered the public a unique and emotionally rich immersive experience!
Immersive Workshops in the 360° Dome for All Ages
Beyond the projections, the dome also hosted immersive workshops focused on visuals and sound, allowing participants to explore digital creation while unleashing their imagination:
- More than a hundred young people from nine schools and organizations took part in the GROOV creative workshops, offered in collaboration with MusicMotion. They transformed their movements into sounds and images, encouraging self-expression and reducing anxiety.
- The general public enjoyed demonstrations of collective interactivity prototyping through a living installation of the Ensens project, presented by Lab148.
