{"id":5798,"date":"2019-02-15T11:30:32","date_gmt":"2019-02-15T16:30:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.printempsnumerique.ca\/?p=5798"},"modified":"2019-04-02T16:31:21","modified_gmt":"2019-04-02T20:31:21","slug":"call-for-speakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.printempsnumerique.ca\/en\/news\/article\/call-for-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"Montreal Digital Week: call for speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Montreal, February 15, 2019<\/strong> <strong>\u2015\u00a0<\/strong>Montreal Digital Spring is launching a call for speakers as part of the first edition of <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/mtlconnecte.ca\/en\/\">&lt;MTL> connect: Digital Week<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, a new annual event to be held from <strong>May 25th to June 2nd, 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This international event aims to look across\nthe board at the main questions related to digital development, focusing on its\neconomic, social, cultural and environmental impacts in various sectors of\nactivity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In collaboration of many partners, the Montreal\nDigital Week will address <strong>5 specific themes <\/strong>related to digital\ntransformations: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Artificial intelligence<\/li><li>Health<\/li><li>Cultural and creative industries<\/li><li>Architecture and building<\/li><li>Transport and mobility<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each theme will be covered over one day in a\nspecific pavilion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montreal Digital Week aims to support\norganizations and various sectors in their digital transformation process and\nto promote digital innovations at the local, national and international levels.\nThis event will also contribute to facilitate the transfer of expertise between\ndifferent ecosystems and encourage the cross-fertilization of knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>CALL FOR SPEAKERS<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Montreal Digital Spring is <strong>calling for speakers to participate<\/strong> in the panels and conferences of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/mtlconnecte.ca\/en\/\">&lt;MTL> connect: Digital Week<\/a><\/em>. These activities are aimed to help participants better understand the challenges and issues at stake in the new digital world, and better anticipate the future trends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you are an entrepreneur, a creative, a\ndeveloper, a specialist in digital and technological tools, involved in digital\nresearch, currently redesigning your environment to adapt to the digital\ntransformation, or even developing new ideas on the uses and impacts of the\ndigital in your sector, we invite you to submit your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To complete an application, the following\ndocuments and information are required: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A short text presenting:<\/li><li>your profile<\/li><li>your environment (organization,\ncompany, research and education\u2026)<\/li><li>topic(s) you would like to address\nas part of your intervention<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A\nbiography focusing on your professional background <\/li><li>A high-resolution photo<\/li><li>if\navailable, a video or any document (conference, PPT, article&#8230;) presenting one\nof your past conferences, or any other media that could help evaluate your\nexpertise on the topic and offer an overview of your stage presence.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: if you are willing to submit an\napplication for different themes, we ask you to submit separate applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All profiles are welcome. Please note that no\npurely commercial applications will be accepted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>PANEL TOPICS<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Several topics will be proposed in connection with our 5 pavilions: Health, Artificial Intelligence, Architecture and Building, Creative and Cultural Industries, Transport and Mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.printempsnumerique.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Topics_mtl_digital-week_2019_ENG.pdf\">Check out the panel topics<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.printempsnumerique.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Topics_mtl_digital-week_2019_ENG.pdf\"> <\/a>and submit your application at: <a href=\"mailto:communication@printempsnumerique.ca\">communication@printempsnumerique.ca<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>DEADLINE <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Those interested in participating in <em><a href=\"http:\/\/mtlconnecte.ca\/en\/\">&lt;MTL> connect: Digital Week<\/a><\/em><br>are <strong>invited to send their application<\/strong> by Sunday, March 24, 2019, before midnight at: <a href=\"mailto:communication@printempsnumerique.ca\">communication@printempsnumerique.ca<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those selected, the important information\nregarding their participation (transportation, schedules, etc.) will be\ncommunicated shortly after. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>All applications will be considered. The\nselection committee will make its final decision based on the relevance and\nquality of the proposed topic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection committee is composed of the\nmembers of the standing committee and 5 other members, experts in the different\nthemes covered in each pavilion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee will evaluate the applications in\naccordance with the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Diversity of profiles<\/strong>: in order to foster constructive\ndebates, the committee will select projects combining a diversity of profiles &#8211;\ncompanies, organizations and experts &#8211; and known for their innovative\napproaches; <\/li><li><strong>Innovative and inspiring projects<\/strong> that can be showcased as examples\nor cases studies during the panels;<\/li><li><strong>Emerging organizations and startups<\/strong> are encouraged to send their\napplication to shed light on new knowledge and innovative approaches;<\/li><li><strong>International, Quebec and Montreal\nactors<\/strong> are invited\nto submit their application to foster international exchanges and partnerships\nwithin the Montreal scene;<\/li><li><strong>Organizations that support the\nintegration of youth and women<\/strong> and the development of projects and tools aimed to be accessible to all\ncommunities and audiences;<\/li><li><strong>Profiles including a sustainable\napproach<\/strong> in their\nresearch and\/or proposing sustainable solutions for the environment.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Montreal Digital Spring team thanks you all for your interest and is looking forward to experiencing this first Montreal Digital Week with you!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Montreal, February 15, 2019 \u2015\u00a0Montreal Digital Spring is launching a call for speakers as part of the first edition of &lt;MTL> connect: Digital Week, a new annual event to be held from May 25th to June 2nd, 2019.
