As debates about the future of Francophone culture and its digital reach intensify, Printemps num\u00e9rique, in collaboration with T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec en classe and BAnQ, presents the third season of the youth podcast Empreinte num\u00e9rique, under the evocative theme <\/span>“Your culture, your identity!”<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

While algorithms increasingly dictate what we see, hear, and share, a crucial question arises: <\/span>where does our culture fit into all this?<\/b> Host <\/span>Tom-\u00c9liot Girard<\/b> leads discussions with high school students from FACE School, artists, and experts to better understand how digital technologies influence the creation, dissemination, and discovery of cultural content.<\/span><\/p>\n

Discoverability: A critical issue for local culture<\/span><\/h3>\n

According to the <\/span>2023 Qu\u00e9bec Survey on the discovery of cultural products and digital media<\/b>, led by <\/span>Lysandre Champagne<\/b> \u2014one of the podcast\u2019s guests\u2014<\/span> less than 15% of young people aged 15 to 29 regularly consume Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois cultural content<\/b>. <\/span>Nearly 30% do not consume any at all<\/b>. These findings raise fundamental questions about the role of digital platforms, cultural policies, and the commitment of institutions in promoting discoverability.<\/span><\/p>\n

At a time when artists and cultural organizations are denouncing insufficient government support, this podcast series emerges as an educational and mobilizing tool to help reconnect young people with their culture.<\/span><\/p>\n
