Under the theme\u00a0<strong>\u201cTOGETHER FOR EQUITABLE ACCESS\u201d<\/strong>, young people under the age of 35 will once again be able to discover Quebec initiatives for learning about the possibilities of digital technology. Activities are scheduled on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mnj.quebec\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MNJ.QUEBEC<\/a>\u00a0website (shows, gaming, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, etc.)!<\/p>\n<p>The website also offers a variety of digital resources to help you explore the studies and careers of tomorrow, develop your creativity, find out about digital issues and experiment with new technologies.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"mcnButton \" title=\"SEE DYM'S PROGRAM\" href=\"https:\/\/mnj.quebec\/en\/#calendrier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SEE DYM&#8217;S PROGRAM<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><strong>TOGETHER FOR EQUITABLE ACCESS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Access to the knowledge needed to develop digital skills must be guaranteed for all! That&#8217;s why the main theme for 2024 is &#8220;Together for equitable access&#8221;. Today, being &#8220;connected&#8221; is no longer limited to access to computer hardware; young people need to master the codes of digital\u00a0culture. The Digital Youth Month awareness-raising campaign will help demystify certain topical issues that can have a major impact on their future. By improving their level of knowledge, young people will find it easier to develop their technical skills and adopt responsible, ethical habits. It also increases their chances of accessing future employment.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Together for equitable access &#8211; that&#8217;s the credo of Montreal Digital Spring (PN). Our ambition? To guarantee equal opportunities by democratizing access to new technologies and equipping young people with the skills they need to fully exploit their resources. The collective effort and active participation of young people are essential to realizing this vision,&#8221; explains Mehdi Benboubakeur, General manager of Montreal Digital Spring (PN), the organization behind the event.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To provide young people and their surroundings with the tools they need, Montreal Digital Spring (PN), in collaboration with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/enclasse.telequebec.tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec en classe<\/a>\u00a0is launching Season 2 of the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/mnj.quebec\/en\/balado\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Empreinte num\u00e9rique<\/a>\u201d podcast *. Eight teens and three experts engage in conversations with hosts Douaa Kachache and Tom-\u00c9liot Girard to deconstruct preconceived ideas and stay informed on important and current topics. Three new episodes starting February 1st, for young and not-so-young alike!<\/p>\n<p><em>* The podcast is available in French only.<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><u><strong>Teenagers express themselves, and experts inform us about important and current topics:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<div><strong>Algorithms:<\/strong>\u00a0In 2018, the YouTube&#8217;s product chief says during a panel that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/news\/youtube-ces-2018-neal-mohan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">70% of views on YouTube<\/a>\u00a0come from the recommendation engine.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jonathan-martineau-3a329926b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonathan Martineau<\/a>, a professor at Concordia, emphasizes the importance of learning to &#8220;train our algorithms&#8221; by staying active. For example, one can conduct searches or indicate when a video is not of interest!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digital sobriety:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/claudine-auger-st-onge-20243216b\/?originalSubdomain=ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Claudine Auger-St-Onge<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lab22.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lab 22<\/a>\u00a0teaches us, among other things, that\u00a0<strong>40% of the environmental footprint of digital devices<\/strong>\u00a0comes from their production.
